Easter Puppet Show at Edinburgh Castle

There’s already so many reasons to visit Edinburgh Castle, but this Easter, Alba puppets has just given us another one.

Employees of the city’s tramway raised the money for MS Therapy Centre Lothian during a series of fundraising events, with the total topped up by donations from kind-hearted customers during the city’s sporting and music events.

Tom Neil, Finance Manager at Edinburgh Trams, explained:

“We’ve always supported a wide range of good causes, but over the last two years we decided to focus our fundraising activity around one local charity.

Over 30,000 tickets have now been sold for the match, which will see Edinburgh Rugby take on two-times champions Munster at BT Murrayfield on Saturday 30 March (kick-off 12.45pm).

With record crowds expected, we’ll be running additional services from every three minutes to keep up with demand.

With frequent and direct services to the stadium from locations such as Edinburgh Airport, the city centre and Ingliston Park & Ride, the tram offers supporters the best way to avoid congestion around the ground, and expensive parking, which will also be in short supply.

Edinburgh Trams was successful for a third year at the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Business Awards which took place yesterday evening celebrating the success of businesses across the city.

The City’s tramway scooped the award for High Business Growth demonstrating a strong development plan and a clear strategy for future growth.

“We’re delighted at this high-profile recognition from our peers in the business community.”

The Keep Safe cards are available to all members of the community and details information about communication requirements, health concerns and who to contact in an emergency.  Anyone needing assistance can enter a Keep Safe place and show their card.  Staff members will be able to assist or call the named contact person on the card.
