Term time is almost upon us and Edinburgh Trams can help make getting to class that bit smoother with some easy travel options.

The Transport for Edinburgh Student Ridacard offers unlimited travel on both tram and bus, and at only £48 a month is great value and convenient for those on a budget.  If you’re only planning to take the tram then a return ticket can be yours for only £3.20.

How do I buy a ticket?

We have a pre-purchase policy, so all tickets and smartcards have to be purchased, validated or activated before you board the tram. If you're using Tap On, Tap Off, you must have tapped your card or device against the Platform Validator before boarding the tram. We offer various ways to travel to suit all needs.

Do you offer discounts for seniors?

If you have a Scottish National Entitlement Card (also known as a Saltire card) issued by the City of Edinburgh Council, you are entitled to free travel on the tram. The same applies to cards from any local authority indicating visual impairment. However cards issued by other local authorities are not valid on the tram.

For the first time the national side will play on a Friday evening facing 12th ranked in the world Georgia.  Two days later the Scotland Squad will start their road to Japan for the forthcoming Rugby World Cup.  Large crowds are expected and BT Murrayfield is promising a party atmosphere to see the team off in style.

The West Fan Village opens at 4.30pm, with general turnstiles open at 5.30pm. Kick-off is 7.30pm.

Can I use my City Day ticket on trams?

City Day, City Late and Family City Day tickets can be used on Edinburgh Trams, between Newhaven and Ingliston Park & Ride only, as well as Lothian Buses day services. A Network Day ticket is valid for travel to or from Edinburgh Airport.
