All residents in Edinburgh under the age of 22 will be entitled to free travel on the tram from Monday 31 January 2022.

Under-22-year-olds will need to hold a Scottish National Entitlement Card or a Young Scot National Entitlement Card and be an Edinburgh resident to be able to travel on the tram for free; otherwise, they will be required to pay for their journey.

Every young person who wishes to benefit from this scheme must apply for and receive a new Scottish National Entitlement Card as previously issued cards will not be eligible.

The Scottish National Entitlement Card or Young Scot National Entitlement Card must be validated on the platform validator before boarding the tram and presented to our friendly staff for inspection.

The Under-22 Free Travel Scheme for trams applies to the whole tram network which includes journeys to and from Edinburgh Airport.
