We are celebrating four years since we came into operation.

Trams returned to the streets of Edinburgh on May 31, 2014. Since then, more than 23 million customer journeys have been recorded.

Edinburgh Trams is celebrating and thanking customer for their loyalty by giving away tram treats to morning commuters today (Thursday, May 31).

Lea Harrison, Managing Director at Edinburgh Trams, said:

The Edinburgh Marathon Festival takes place this weekend with thousands of runners expected to take part in one of nine races being held in the city.

With frequent services direct to the City Centre from locations such as Ingliston Park & Ride and Edinburgh Gateway, the tram is a great way to avoid expensive parking, which will be in short supply.

Rugby fans heading to BT Murrayfield Stadium for Silver Saturday are being urged to take the tram to tackle the traffic.

On Saturday, April 28, the 1872 Cup decider between Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby joins the pinnacle of club rugby season – the BT Cup Finals. Dubbed ‘Silver Saturday’ as a total of seven trophies will be contested for on the day, aiming to showcase the best rugby in Scotland for existing and new fans alike and bring the community of rugby together for a special day of finals.

A charity for lost and abandoned pets has received a £6,000 boost after being ‘adopted’ by Edinburgh Trams.

Employees of the city’s tramway raised the money for Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home during a series of fundraising events, with the total topped up by donations from kind-hearted customers.

Edinburgh Rugby take on Scarlets this Saturday (April, 14) at BT Murrayfield in the Guinness Pro 14’s.

Edinburgh Rugby take on Ulster this Friday (April, 6) at BT Murrayfield in the Guinness Pro 14’s. Kick-off is at 7.35pm and Edinburgh Trams is here to make sure supporters miss none of the action by running services from every seven minutes to the heart of the action.

With frequent and direct services to the stadium from locations such as the City Centre and Ingliston Park & Ride, the tram offers supporters the best way to avoid congestion around the ground, and expensive parking, which will also be in short supply.

On Saturday, March 31, Edinburgh Rugby take on Cardiff Blues at BT Murrayfield in the Challenge Cup Quarter Finals. Kick-off is at 5.45pm and to make sure supporters miss none of the action, Edinburgh Trams is running services from every seven minutes to the heart of the action.

It’s now easier than ever to get in touch with Edinburgh Trams thanks to the latest technology and the formation of a new dedicated, in-house Customer Relations team.

In response to feedback from customers and to meet growing demand, customer relations officers will be available for live online chats as well as through social media and SMS.  

Edinburgh Trams recorded more than 30,000 customer journeys during the last three days of extreme weather conditions.

The so called ‘Beast from the East’ brought disruption throughout the country and caused travel chaos for many. When most other public transport came to a stop, employees at Edinburgh Trams pulled together with dedicated shifts working tirelessly around the clock to keep tracks clear of snow and allowing trams to run through the city.

A project that’s seen life-saving medical equipment installed on the city’s trams has scooped a prestigious accolade at the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Awards.

Edinburgh Trams has become one of the first light rail operators in the UK to install defibrillators across its entire fleet thanks to a pioneering partnership with St John Scotland.
