Customers can head to the city’s famous festive attractions aboard Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, or Blitzen after Edinburgh Trams named some of its fleet after the unsung heroes of Christmas.

The named trams, complete with antlers, can be found running from Edinburgh Airport to the City centre from every 7 minutes.

Before meeting Santa’s reindeer, customers can leave their cars at Ingliston Park & Ride which has more than 1,000 parking spaces available, including electric vehicle charging points.

Santa’s favourite reindeer Rudolph can be found at Edinburgh Airport shinning his bright red nose to help those coming from afar get into the Christmas spirit.

Families travelling together can benefit from the ‘Family Day Tripper’ which allows a day’s tram travel for up to 2 adults plus up to 3 under 16’s for only £7.50.

The ‘Family Day Tripper’ as well as other great ticket deals can be bought from edinburghticket.com and printed or downloaded on a smart device before travel.

Edinburgh Trams’ Managing Director Lea Harrison, said:

There’s no doubt a reindeer ride on the tram is such a magical, Santa-themed travel experience this winter. With families having postponed their big trip last season, we want to make sure they have the most enjoyable time possible when visiting this great city.

We hope our reindeer fleet bring some smiles this Christmas.

Santa’s reindeer story owns its popularity to Clement Clarke Moore’s poem called ‘A Visit from Saint Nicolas’ which first appeared in 1823.
