On Saturday, 29 September, Edinburgh Trams will, for the first time open our doors and let the public see our operation through a different perspective.

300 tickets have been booked for the sell-out event taking place at our depot at Gogar. 

Sarah Singh, Edinburgh Trams Operations Manager, commented:

One of the oldest rivalries in Scottish rugby is returning to BT Murrayfield at the weekend, and Edinburgh Trams is gearing up to help fans get to the heart of the action.

On Saturday, 22 September, Murrayfield Stadium will host the Royal Bank of Scotland Scottish Rugby Varsity match between Edinburgh and St Andrews universities, with previous encounters seeing over 10,000 supporters flock to the stands, it’s sure to be a great day out for rugby fans.

Edinburgh Trams would like to update our customers with the current position in respect of the problems that are being experienced by a small group of m-ticket users (less than 2%). We can only apologise for any inconvenience caused by our suppliers issue.

The app is provided by CoreThree, a key supplier to the major transport groups across the UK. We have been working very hard with them to ensure that they bring a speedy resolution to this matter for both ourselves and our customers. 

Edinburgh Trams will be running special ‘bike only’ trams in support of Scotland’s biggest bike event, which returns on Sunday, September 9.

Anyone taking part in Pedal for Scotland who has pre-purchased a ‘Tram Transport’ wristband can take advantage of the additional, non-stop services between Haymarket and Ingliston Park & Ride before and after a packed programme of cycling challenges. 

Freshers Week officially gets underway on Monday 14 September.

Edinburgh Trams is celebrating its busiest ever festival with over 600,000 customer journeys. This is up more than seven per cent on last year generating over £1.3 million in revenue.

Services ran from every three minutes, seven days a week to keep up with demand, whilst overnight trams on Saturdays returned for another year proving just as popular with thousands of festival-goers.

Our Hanover Street Travelshop will close on Saturday 1 September.

From that date, you can still visit our Waverley Bridge Travelshop for all timetables, travel information, tickets and Ridacards.

To ensure everyone has the chance to get their travel information, we’ve extended the opening hours of our Waverley Bridge Travelshop throughout September and will open Monday to Thursday 8am – 8pm, Friday and Saturday 8am – 6pm and Sundays 9am – 5.30pm.

Edinburgh Trams topped a business benchmarking survey for customer satisfaction.

Following a survey of more than 500 customers, the Institute of Customer Service awarded the organisation a score of 87.9 – more than 15 points above the transport industry average and 10 points higher than the multi-sector average.

The Edinburgh International Festival gets underway this weekend and Edinburgh Trams is here to help residents and visitors to the city.
