The BIG Dinner is a major fundraising event taking place on 15 March 2015 with the aim of raising over £500,000 in a single night to support amputees and others with mobility difficulties in Malawi and Zambia.

The event consists of hundreds of separate dinners eaten all over the world, some of which will be showcased in a special web-stream broadcast hosted by Fred MacAulay, who will be attending a celebrity dinner himself.

There is lots to do and see over the coming weeks in and around Edinburgh, if you havn't been on a tram yet, why not use this as an excuse to get on and give it a try.

If you are coming into Edinburgh for the day, you can park at Ingliston Park & Ride and take the tram from there.  The car park is safe, secure and free - plus there will be plenty of spaces.

All you have to do to make the most of these offers is show a valid DAY&NIGHTticket to the participating company.

St Columba's Hospice bookshop is spreading a little Christmas cheer to tram passengers tomorrow, 28 November by giving them a little gift on their travels.

Complimentary books will be placed on trams throughout the day for passengers to read, share, pass on or keep to brighten up their day.

Transport for Edinburgh are offering Ridacard holders 50% off admission to see Edinburgh Capitals take on Hull Stingrays at 6pm, this Sunday, 30 November at Murrayfield Ice Rink. 

If you have never experienced an ice hockey game, this is your perfect opportunity to see  the high speed, high action excitement of the game.

The Edinburgh ice hockey team wanted to offer Ridacard holders something special this weekend on the lead up to Christmas as a thank you for their support so far this season.

To allow Transport for Edinburgh to continue to offer the lowest prices for unlimited travel on bus and tram, the validity of Student Ridacards is matched to that of the student matriculation card which is shown at the time of purchase. This ensures that the product is only available to those who are eligible.

It's been a year since Lothian Buses launched its mobile phone app and m-tickets on 18 November 2013, which became the Transport for Edinburgh app in May to include Edinburgh Trams.

Over the year, it has proved to be a great success, with 1.4 million tickets sold and over 200,000 downloads, doubling the forecasted figures and becoming a must have on Edinburgh residents phones.

To travel on the tram, tickets must be bought in advance of boarding from the ticket machines located at every tram stop or the Transport for Edinburgh app.

Edinburgh Trams is delighted to be teaming up with Edinburgh Rugby to offer Transport for Edinburgh Ridacard holders FREE child tickets to their game on Sunday 23 November at Murrayfield Stadium.

Ridacard holders will be able to take up to 2 under 18s to the game against Cardiff Blues for free with the purchase of an adult ticket.

From today, 7 November, Edinburgh Trams display a poppy in the drivers cab area of the tram to mark the World War One Centenary year and commemorate Remembrance Sunday.

Edinburgh Trams employees wanted to show their respect to those who fought in the wars and ensure the occasion was marked in an appropriate way.

All employees will be given the opportunity to observe a two minute silence on Remembrance Sunday. Drivers will be given advance notice and will stop at the closest tram stop.
