The BIG Dinner is a major fundraising event taking place on 15 March 2015 with the aim of raising over £500,000 in a single night to support amputees and others with mobility difficulties in Malawi and Zambia.

The event consists of hundreds of separate dinners eaten all over the world, some of which will be showcased in a special web-stream broadcast hosted by Fred MacAulay, who will be attending a celebrity dinner himself.

Edinburgh Trams are supporting this event and helped raise awareness of the BIG dinner, run by local charity 500 Miles, by hosting a dinner on one of its trams for employees.

Tom Norris, Director and General Manager, said:

Olivia’s work through her 500 miles charity makes a huge difference to so many lives and we’re delighted to be supporting the Big Dinner campaign. We hope that many more will take part too as it’s a fun way to raise the vital funds needed to further extend and develop centres in Africa that play such a key role in helping people regain their independence.
