Transport for Edinburgh is delighted to be playing it's part in this year's Edinburgh Fringe as Official Transport Partner of Underbelly for 2015.

It's easy to get to the Udderbelly's 5 venues by bus and tram.  Use the Transport for Edinburgh journey planner to plan your route by clicking on the venue below.

Edinburgh Trams would like to thank everyone for their good wishes and birthday messages over the last few days.

Lots of you posted your selfie photos wearing the special anniversivery silver hats.  Some of the best ones are posted here.

The lucky winner of a year's free Ridacard travel is Malcolm Robertson.

Congratulations.

Where did that year go? As I reflect on where we were in May 2014 and the amount of change our business has gone through since then, it is unrecognisable.

In terms of our business there has been much noise about our performance. Our annual report will be out shortly for the year to end December 2014. On top of this we are releasing further data to give a view of the first full year. So what does it say?

Newly released figures show that there were approximately 4.92 million passenger journeys on Edinburgh Trams during its first year of operations - around 370,000 ahead of the target set before launch.

Launched on Saturday 31 May 2014 at 5am, Edinburgh Trams is also set to surpass revenue targets set out in its business model by around 3%. Concessionary card holders are currently accounting for 10.9% of passengers which is well within the Council’s budget which was set to ensure that Edinburgh’s card holders get free travel on the tram.

Following a successful test period during May, the Edinburgh Trams bike trial will be extended for a further month until the end of June.

So far, an average of 10 bikes have been taken on board daily. York Place has shown to be the most popular boarding point with almost a third of recorded journeys starting there.

Feedback will continue to be gathered by Edinburgh Trams from cyclists and other passengers and can be given by contacting customer services

From 1 June, trainee guide dog puppies and their walkers will travel for free on Edinburgh Trams and Lothian Buses as part of their Guide Dogs Scotland training programme.

Over the last week the puppies have familiarised themselves with Lothian Buses, visiting bus depots and taken their first steps on board Edinburgh Trams at Edinburgh Airport.

The Nominations Committee of Transport for Edinburgh has recommended the appointment of Charles Monheim as Chair of Edinburgh Trams.  Mr Monheim, who comes with extensive global experience of transport systems, is also set to sit on the Transport for Edinburgh Board and is expected to be formally appointed at a meeting of the City of Edinburgh Council on Thursday 28th May.

The Transport for Edinburgh Travelshop in Hanover Street will close for refurbishment on Friday 22 May.

During this time improvements will be made for customers including an expansion of the front desk.

The nearest alternative for your travel needs will be the Waverley Bridge Travelshop, which is a 5 minute walk from Hanover Street. Waverley Bridge Travelshop is open seven days a week and will operate a FastTrack desk for Ridacard top ups. It will be open until 1900,  Monday - Thursday to help customers during this time.
