The operator of the city’s tramway has been named Edinburgh’s Large Business of the Year at a prestigious event last night (Thursday, February 24).

The Six Nations Championship continues this weekend with Scotland facing France at Edinburgh’s BT Murrayfield Stadium. Fans attending the game on Saturday are reminded that using the tram is the easiest way to avoid the traffic and parking hassle with the new range of pre-purchase tickets also proving popular.

Edinburgh Trams new online ‘Authority to Work’ platform, which helps facilitate a safer environment for any works carried out on or near the tramway, is now live.

The web-based platform gives the contractor a clear set of instructions to work through at all stages of the application process while identifying the nature of the task and any associated risks.

With the festive season upon us, Edinburgh Trams have announced plans for how services will operate during the holiday period.

With the exception of Christmas Day itself, trams will run to a full timetable with services from every 7 minutes during the daytime and 10 minutes in the evenings.

Due to the current Scottish Government guidance and the cancellation of Edinburgh's Hogmanay street party we will no longer be running all night trams in the early hours of 1st January.
