Below we have collated a few of our most frequently asked questions regarding using the tram on a rugby day to help you organise your trip!
How frequently will trams operate?
Services will be boosted before and after the match, with trams running from every 5-minutes. Trams have a capacity of 250 people meaning, we can move customers to and from Murrayfield, fast!

How can I purchase a tram ticket and which ticket should I buy?
We recommend purchasing your tram tickets in advance through our official ticket website, Edinburgh Ticket, to save both time and money. Suitable for any traveller, our wide variety of tickets provide a great deal of flexibility for both visitors to the city and local residents.
If you are out and about before heading to the stadium our ‘Day Tripper’ options allow unlimited tram travel between Ingliston Park & Ride and Newhaven.
They are priced at £4.50 for adults, £2.25 for children, and £8 for the whole family (up to two adults and three under 16s).
If you’re staying over a couple days, we also offer multiday tickets for 3, 4 & 5 days, both in the city and for the airport on this platform.
Tickets purchased online can be downloaded onto a smart device or printed out. These then get checked by our team at the Murrayfield gateline so please keep these handy!
Edinburgh Ticket holders can also access discounts at some of the city’s top attractions and restaurants, such as Johnnie Walker Princes Street, Hard Rock Café, and Ediburgh Bus Tours among others, making it a perfect option if you wanted to make plans before and after the game.
Tram tickets will also be available to purchase on the day with colleagues stationed on the majority of platforms and through our platform ticket machines.
Where can I park my car along the tramway?
Driving from beyond Edinburgh, you can leave your car at Ingliston Park & Ride which has over 1000 free parking spaces. Spaces can fill up quickly so we suggest giving plenty of time for your journey.
We will have colleagues both in our kiosk and on platform to help with any queries you may have.
