Today (Friday, June 7) marks the first anniversary of the first tram services to Newhaven and, exactly a year on from the successful launch, the huge boost the new route has delivered for the city is abundantly clear.
Since that historic day, the number of people using the tram has more than doubled, with more than seven million trips recorded just in the first six months.

The tram route extension has been a wonderful and welcome addition for our audiences travelling from across the city to see our shows. The Picardy Place stop being directly opposite the theatre has meant that making your way to your favourite musicals, comedy, gigs and more has never been easier.
