Following the successful launch of a new route to Newhaven, a series of safety videos are now available to help local residents and tourists to ‘glide’ safely when travelling with Edinburgh Trams.

As well as offering guidance on how to cross the road around the network and other safety-critical tips, the videos show where help point buttons, ticket machines, and platform validators can be found at each tram stop.

For further convenience, customers can also see where luggage racks, dedicated spaces for wheelchairs and mobility scooters are positioned on the tram, so that they can travel with as little fuss as possible.

Ross Crawford, Edinburgh Trams’ Assistant Safety Manager, commented:

Safety has always been our top priority in everything we do. So, we are constantly looking at ways to improve our safety standards to ensure customers can have the best travelling experience with us.

With trams now running from every seven minutes between the airport and Newhaven, it has never been more important to provide local residents and tourists with the tips they need to be able to travel on the tram both safely and comfortably, Ross added.
