Services to city centre tram stops resume tomorrow, February 19, following the completion of overhead line works as part of the Trams to Newhaven project.

As trams return to Princes Street and St Andrew Square, the successful connection of new overhead power lines to the existing system will enable the tram operator to commence intensive testing ahead of the launch of services to Newhaven in Spring this year.

Edinburgh Trams’ Managing Director Lea Harrison commented:

Thanks to the excellent progress made on this key phase of the project, we have been able to resume services to the city centre slightly earlier than initially planned, from every seven minutes between the airport and St Andrew Square.

We would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding over the past few days while these vital works were being carried out.
