Last night saw Edinburgh Trams win the Most Improved System Award at the 11th annual Global Light Rail Awards.
The glittering award ceremony, held in London, helped celebrate innovation and excellence within the light rail sector.
Our tram system was shortlisted for two awards and after evaluation from an independent panel of expert judges we were awarded with the Most Improved System award. We also received the “Highly Commended” recognition in the Best Customer Initiative category.
Lea Harrison, General Manager for Edinburgh Trams said:
“The Global Light Rail Awards are an excellent event to recognise the hard work of employees from the industry. Delivering the Information Lounge and improving our service even further considering we were awarded Operator of the Year in 2015 is no exception.”
The award win comes whilst we are currently celebrating National Customer Service Week with a range of activities across our tram system. Customers have the chance to win an iPad Mini by heading over to our Facebook page and leaving us a review beginning with the phrase ‘I Love Edinburgh Trams because…’
Throughout the week our customer service team will also be sharing the love by treating lucky customers to breakfast and even some special Edinburgh Tram love heart sweets at selected tram stops.
