Scotland face world champions South Africa at BT Murrayfield Stadium in the third of this year’s Autumn Internationals, and the new pre-purchase tram ticket option is proving a hit with fans.

Introduced as a trial for this year’s fixtures, rugby fans can purchase an ‘Adult Rugby Return’ for £3.40 and a ‘Child Rugby Return’ for £1.80 ahead of travelling to the game from edinburghticket.com. These tickets can be used from any tram stop, except Edinburgh Airport, and are downloaded onto a mobile device or printed out before travel.

For families heading to Murrayfield, the ‘Family Day Tripper’ ticket offers a day’s tram travel for up to 2 adults plus up to 3 under 16s at only £7.50.

Customers can benefit from free parking at Ingliston Park & Ride which has over 1,000 parking spaces available, including electric vehicle charging points. With frequent services from Edinburgh Airport to the city centre, the tram makes the journey to and from the stadium as convenient as possible for all rugby fans.

Edinburgh Trams’ Managing Director Lea Harrison, said:

Our new rugby ticket options have proved really popular for those first two Autumn Internationals with fans loving the convenience of already having a pre-purchased ticket before they travel.

With our services boosted to run from every 3 minutes before and after the game, getting to BT Murrayfield with Edinburgh Trams couldn’t’ be easier.

The Scots battle the Springboks this Saturday 13 November with kick-off time at 1:00pm. Both countries have played each other on 27 occasions since they first met in 1906.

The last time South Africa visited BT Murrayfield was in 2018, when Scotland narrowly lost the match.
