Edinburgh Trams is celebrating their fifth birthday by introducing their young fans to Tilly the Tram and her friends in the book “Tilly the Tram’s Noisy Birthday”.  Supporting the book are three special storytelling events taking place on Sunday 2 May.  Those lucky enough to have snapped up the in demand tickets will hear the story read by Forth One’s Micky Gavin and then it’s time to crank up the volume for some Kiddi-oke.

The event was announced on 14 May, but so as not to disappoint the tramway have arranged for Tilly to do an extra run giving people another chance to hear her story.

Tickets for the added event will be available from today on the Eventbrite site

For every ticket sold, £6 of the money will go straight The Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, who continue to transform the lives of children and young people in hospital and healthcare settings across Edinburgh so that they can be children first and patients second.

The book was written and illustrated by the staff of Edinburgh Trams.  An exclusive number of books went on sale on 14 May on the company’s website, and so far a large number have already been sold.   £3 from each book sold will be donated to Edinburgh Trams’ charity of the year, The Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity.

The book has also been created to help little tram fans keep safe, helping them to understand what sounds to listen out for when they are exploring the city.
