We’ll be running trams from every seven minutes every day except Christmas Day.
Once again, we’ll be bringing you our FREE Hogmanay night services throughout the early hours on 1 January. What’s more, we’ll now be running from every 15 minutes. See below for more details.
Monday 24 December
Normal weekday service on Christmas Eve until approximately 9pm with trams from every seven minutes.
- The last full route tram from Edinburgh Airport to York Place will depart at 9.14pm.
- Departures from Edinburgh Airport after 9.14pm until 10.48pm will terminate at Edinburgh Gateway.
- The last full route tram from York Place to Edinburgh Airport will depart at 9.58pm.
Tuesday 25 December
Sorry, no trams on Christmas Day.
Wednesday 26 – Saturday 29 December
Normal service with trams from every seven minutes.
Sunday 30 December
Normal weekend service with trams from every seven minutes. However, to allow Edinburgh’s Hogmanay events to take place, trams will run part route between Edinburgh Airport and West End from approximately 6pm.
- The last full route tram from Edinburgh Airport to York Place will depart at 5.10pm.
- The last full route tram from York Place to Edinburgh Airport will depart at 5.52pm
Monday 31 December
Normal weekday service on New Year’s Eve with trams from every seven minutes. However, to allow Edinburgh’s Hogmanay events to take place, trams will run part route between Edinburgh Airport and West End.
Hogmanay
FREE night trams from every 15 minutes between midnight and 5am on 1 January. To allow Edinburgh’s Hogmanay events to take place, trams will run part route between West End and Edinburgh Airport.
Overnight parking restrictions will be lifted at Ingliston Park & Ride on Hogmanay.
Tuesday 1 January 2019
Normal weekday service on New Year’s Day with trams from every seven minutes. However, to allow Edinburgh’s Hogmanay events to take place, trams will continue to run part route between Edinburgh Airport and West End until approximately 9.30am.
- The first full route tram from Edinburgh Airport to York Place will depart at 9.33am.
- The first full route tram from York Place to Edinburgh Airport will depart at 10.14am.
Please note: Full route services timings are dependent on the re-opening of Princes Street.
