A message from Lea Harrison

Managing Director, Edinburgh Trams

In nearly six years of operation Edinburgh Trams has gone from strength to strength with strong commercial success and a growing number of loyal customers and for that we have you to thank.

Over the years we have made significant improvements in the tram service, increasing frequency to meet with demand and running trams earlier and later.   These enhancements, along with ongoing operational costs, has to be reflected in our fares.

This is the first fares increase we have had to put in place since 2018.  Increasing fares is never a popular choice, but it has been a necessary decision for Edinburgh Trams to make.

The new fares will come into effect on Sunday 2 February 2020.  Below are the details of the changes for Edinburgh Trams, for tickets which are integrated with Lothian please see here.

We’ve seen a significant increase in customers pre-purchasing their tickets online through our website.  For those who plan their journey in advance and buy online through our website airport ticket prices will remain unchanged.

We believe that these changes still offer value for money.  Compared to other UK tram systems Edinburgh Trams offers some of the lowest fares.

We appreciate your continued loyalty with Edinburgh Trams.
