Edinburgh Trams is delighted to announce that once again we will be supporting the Streets Ahead Young Drivers event.
2017 will be the event’s seventh year and every state and independent school in Edinburgh has been invited to Edinburgh's premier rock venue, The Corn Exchange.
In 2011, 17 to 25-year-olds accounted for nearly a quarter of all road casualties in Edinburgh, with young men being the most likely to commit driving offences. New drivers are most at risk in their first year of driving.
The Young Drivers event will focus on the risks and responsibilities facing newly qualified drivers at a time when young people may well be thinking about taking driving lessons. Understanding how to share roads with tramways is no exception
This is one of Streets Ahead’s biggest multi agency events involving all its main partners, including Edinburgh Trams. If you’re attending the event, come along and see our exhibition where you can find information on safety around trams, learn about our signals and even try on some of our personal protective equipment and uniform. If you’re lucky you might even be able to grab some freebies!
