Rugby fans can save on travel to matches in Edinburgh over the next few weeks as the city hosts a series of warm-up games ahead of the World Rugby Cup in France later this year

Anyone heading for the clash between Scotland and Italy at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield on Saturday, July 29, can take advantage of tram return tickets which can be purchased ahead of the game.

The ‘Rugby Return’ tram tickets can either be downloaded onto a smart device or simply printed out to show the Edinburgh Trams team and further details on other fantastic tram travel deals such as the 'Family Day Tripper’ ticket, which allows unlimited travel for up to two adults and three children for only £8, can be found here.

Catriona Taylor, the operator’s Customer Experience Manager, commented:

We’re always looking at ways to make it as easy as possible to travel on event days, and the fact that these tram return tickets can be bought in advance has proved popular ahead of previous rugby matches.

With a packed programme of sporting and cultural events across Edinburgh this summer, we’re also planning to help keep the city moving by boosting our service frequency before and after the fixtures.

As part of the Famous Grouse Nation Series, the Scottish team will also be looking to beat France and Georgia before they travel to Nice and further details can be found here.
