We are celebrating four years since we came into operation.

Trams returned to the streets of Edinburgh on May 31, 2014. Since then, more than 23 million customer journeys have been recorded.

Edinburgh Trams is celebrating and thanking customer for their loyalty by giving away tram treats to morning commuters today (Thursday, May 31).

Lea Harrison, Managing Director at Edinburgh Trams, said:

“It’s great to be part of a team celebrating its fourth consecutive year of growth.

“The introduction of a new timetable at the start of 2017 has played a major part in our continued success. With a 23 per cent increase in services and a 16 percent reduction in journey times, more people than ever before are using trams.

“We’re grateful to each and every customer who has used our service and we’d love to see them getting into the spirit of things today using our social media channels.”

A winning combination of industry-leading customer service and service reliability has seen the operator of Edinburgh Trams exceed all expectations. We have recorded patronage growth of 19 per cent in 2017 and returned an operating profit to the City of Edinburgh Council a year ahead of schedule.
