Upgrades to a popular ticketing website will make it easier than ever to make the most of great deals on tram travel in Edinburgh.
Alongside a fresh new look, additional features on edinburghticket.com enable purchased tickets to be downloaded directly to Google and Apple wallets.
Of course, tickets can still be printed off in advance of travel for inspection by members of the friendly Edinburgh Trams team but by increasing the options available the operator aims to offer added convenience for customers.
Jamie Swift, Edinburgh Trams’ Marketing Manager, commented:
Since the launch of trams to Newhaven, we’ve seen a massive increase in customers using the tram, either for business or pleasure and we’re always looking at ways to make buying a ticket as easy as possible.
This includes revamping the website to make it as user-friendly as possible to help them find and use a value-for-money ticket that best suits their needs.
Our popular ticket offers are suitable for all sorts of activities in and around Edinburgh and as an added bonus, tickets purchased online can entitle customers to discounts at some of the city’s top attractions and restaurants such as Edinburgh Bus Tours, Camera Obscura & World of Illusions, and Hard Rock Café.
Groups travelling together can also benefit from a variety of ‘Family’ options, including both City and Airport Zones. Alternatively, they can also buy multiple tickets in one purchase, add them all to their Apple/Google wallets or download them as PDF files.
With trams now running between Edinburgh Airport and Newhaven from every seven minutes, and with many hotels along the tram route, the tram offers a convenient way to experience the beauty of Scotland’s capital, and we will do all we can to help both visitors and local residents to make the most of our great city, Jamie added.
