While pop legend Robbie Williams has promised to ‘Entertain You’ when he takes to the stage in Edinburgh later this month, we’ll be on hand to Transport You so that fans can enjoy quick and convenient travel to and from Murrayfield Stadium!
Extra trams will be laid on for the eagerly awaited concert on Saturday, May 31, and fans travelling from outside the city can take advantage of a range of ticket options, whether they’re staying for the day or over the weekend.
The show also marks the first major event to be staged in the city following the introduction of our ‘Tap on, Tap off’ payment system, which is set to go live on Monday, May 19.
Sarah Singh, Head of Service Delivery at Edinburgh Trams, explained: “While customers can still buy their tickets in advance using our app or online, we wanted to make people aware of this new way to pay, ahead of what promises to be a very busy day on the network when Robbie comes to town.
“By tapping their contactless card or device onto the Platform Validators at the beginning and end of their journey, customers can conveniently travel to the stadium without waiting in queues at on-platform Ticket Vending Machines.”
Although the system is only available for standard adult fares (click here for additional information), special offers are also available for customers travelling in groups or with children, and further details can be found here.
“We would also like to remind people travelling into Edinburgh by car that they can take advantage of free spaces at our Ingliston Park and Ride facility before completing their journey by tram,” Sarah said.
As with all events in the city, we’ll be pulling out all the stops to help people make the most of this special event, and our very own ‘Angels’ will be out and about on the network to ensure fans enjoy seamless travel to the stadium.
