One of the oldest rivalries in Scottish rugby is returning to BT Murrayfield at the weekend, and Edinburgh Trams is gearing up to help fans get to the heart of the action.

On Saturday, September 23, the stadium will host the Royal Bank of Scotland Scottish Rugby Varsity match between Edinburgh and St Andrews universities, and previous encounters have seen over 10,000 supporters flock to the stands.

With fast, frequent and direct services to the entrance of the stadium from the City Centre and locations such as Edinburgh Gateway and Ingliston Park & Ride, the tram offers the ideal way to avoid traffic and enjoy a day of rugby action without the hassle of finding a parking space.

Dean Anderson, Edinburgh Trams Customer Experience Manager, commented:

“The stadium turnstiles open at 2.30pm with the Woman's match kicking off at 5pm and the Men's match kicking off at 6.15pm. We expect to be busy through the day but with services from every 7 minutes the tram offers an easy way to get to the games."

The Varsity Rugby is supported by Royal Bank of Scotland and run in partnership with PlayerLayer, Stagecoach and Campus Living Villages. To find out more and purchase tickets please click here.
