As of Wednesday 1 February we are making it easier for customers who travel on trams with a mobility scooter to apply for a permit.
Customers wishing to register for a full permit can now email and post their application forms to Edinburgh Trams, or call our customer services team for help completing the form. We’ve also added 8 new locations where customers can complete that form in person or even obtain a temporary permit. Simply visit any of our Travelshops, Park & Ride kiosks or the Information Lounge at the airport tram stop.
Dean Anderson, Customer Experience Manager at Edinburgh Trams said:
“Since we introduced the permit scheme on 1st January 2016, we have received very positive feedback from the community. I’m delighted we are now in a position to review the success of the scheme and adapt the process to make our services even more accessible to mobility scooter users.”
Each of our trams has two priority disabled bays and our permit scheme helps to ensure the safe operation of mobility scooters on board.
