Royal Highland Show & Edinburgh Trams take the country to the city with a Clydesdale wrapped tram.

Over 200,000 people will flock to the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston in June (22nd – 25th) for the best of farming, food and rural life.

Arguably, Scotland’s biggest outdoor event has joined forces with Edinburgh Tram to create a joint ticket to include travel and entry to the show.

With just a short walk to the showground, it is hoped that visitors will make the journey by tram with stewards on hand to ensure people know the way.

Launching today (17th May) customers can purchase tram tickets on the Royal Highland Show website at a discounted rate.  Show tickets priced at £22 can be used on any day of the show.

The Royal Highland Show manager, David Jackson said:

“We want visitors to have the best experience of the show from the moment they leave their home to getting back after an inspiring day immersed in everything the countryside has to offer.  Our aim is to make it easy to get to and from the showground and for Edinburgh visitors the tram is an option that we wish to encourage.”

Lea Harrison, Managing Director at Edinburgh Trams said:

“It’s been a great pleasure working with the Royal Highland Show on such a unique launch event. Our new partnership means we can now bring our fast, frequent and reliable service to a whole new audience. Over the weekend we’ll be offering trams from every 7 minutes with journey times of less than 30 minutes between Ingliston Park & Ride and the city centre. With tickets priced at £3.20 return, trams are the obvious choice.”

A tram wrapped in eye-catching artwork to help promote the Royal Highland Show will be making its way around Edinburgh’s tramway for the next few weeks. You can share your snaps of the tram on social media by using #JoinTheTrampede
