To allow Transport for Edinburgh to continue to offer you the lowest prices for unlimited travel on Edinburgh Tram and Lothian Buses, the validity of your Student Ridacard is matched to that of the student matriculation card that is provided at the time of purchase. This ensures that the product is only available to those who are eligible.

Consequently, if you bought your Student Ridacard with a 2014/2015 matriculation card it will expire on 30 November 2015. This will also be the case for secondary school pupils who left school this summer. Holders of a Direct Debit Student Ridacard which is due to expire should visit a Transport for Edinburgh Travelshop with their valid matriculation card so they can be issued with a valid Ridacard.

If you are no longer eligible for a Student Ridacard, then you must cancel yout Direct Debit instruction. You can do this by calling 0131 348 7269.  Payments will continue to be collected until instruction is given to stop.

If you are continuing your studies after the card expiry, please visit one of the Transport for Edinburgh Travelshops, with your new matriculation card, where staff can update your details and ensure that your Student Ridacard remains valid.

If you are unsure about the validity of your Ridacard please visit one of the Transport for Edinburgh Travelshops, with both your Ridacard and your student matriculation card.
