A free, all-night tram service is being lined up again this year to ensure revellers across Edinburgh can make the most of one of the world’s greatest New Year celebrations.

Edinburgh Trams is gearing up to play its part in keeping the city moving as tens of thousands of people flock to Scotland’s capital when legendary rock band Pulp take to the stage for this year’s Hogmanay concert in the grounds of Princes Street Gardens.

Other venues across town are also set to host a packed programme of events and further information can be found here.

To make way for the eagerly awaited street party in the city centre, the operator will be running ‘a split service’, with trams serving all stops between Newhaven and Picardy Place, and between Edinburgh Airport and West End.

From midnight until 2am, the free trams will run up to every 10 minutes, and then up to every 20 minutes until the early hours of New Year’s Day, to help partygoers to get home or back to their accommodation as safely as possible.

Lea Harrison, Edinburgh Trams’ Managing Director, commented:

Following the enormous success of free, late-night trams in previous years, we’re thrilled to be able to run them again for everyone to get around the city, whatever time they decide to call it a night!

The timetable for 31st December and throughout the night is below. For more details on the ‘split service’ operating from 7pm on 30th until 10am on 1st January due to the street party road closures click here.
