A selection process is now underway for Non-Executive Director positions on the Transport for Edinburgh, Lothian Buses and Edinburgh Trams boards. The transport group is also recruiting a Non-Executive Chair for Lothian Buses and a Non-Executive Chair for Edinburgh Trams.

Transport for Edinburgh's vision is to provide a seamless a public transport offer, combining Lothian Buses and Edinburgh Trams, to drive the future success of the city. We’re looking for people to join us on our boards to help us achieve that vision.

Tony Depledge was appointed Interim Chair in November 2014 and was tasked with developing a solution to executive management issues. He has since implemented transitional management arrangements.

My job as interim Chair was to develop a solution to management issues so the company can progress and I'm confident that we are doing just that. Lothian Buses is a strong, successful business and we want to attract individuals to the Board who can further enhance the company's position and take full advantage of the opportunities that lie ahead.

Transport for Edinburgh Limited was established in 2013 to provide the City of Edinburgh’s integrated transport network. The group combines highly rated bus operator, Lothian Buses and the successful Edinburgh Bus Tours with Edinburgh Trams. 

The City of Edinburgh Council’s holds a majority stake in Lothian Buses Ltd (91%) and 100% of Edinburgh Trams Limited. The combined operations employ circa 2,250 employees, have a fleet of over 700 buses and operate the new tram system. Total revenues are in excess of £130 million per annum with over 115 million passenger journeys each year.
