The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo makes its triumphant return to the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade this week on Friday 7 August for three weeks of unforgettable spectacle, storytelling, and celebration.
Expect a musical performance of dance from military and cultural acts from around the globe against the backdrop of the iconic Edinburgh Castle. This year’s theme is ‘A Call To Gather’ which invites audiences to gather and unite with this year’s show honouring the power of connection and bringing us together.
Due to the disruption on Princes Street, trams are currently still running from Edinburgh Airport – West End only. But you can still get access to the show on the Esplanade via the West End tram stop if you’re coming from the west of the city or beyond. There are thousands of free spaces at Ingliston Park & Ride, so if you’re taking the car, you can park and glide to the West End with ease.

There are a number of ways to pay for your tram travel. Tap On and Tap Off with a contactless card or device to pay for an Adult Single ticket for each journey you take. Tickets are capped at the City DAY Cap price, so you’ll never pay more than you need to. Just don’t forget to Tap OFF or you’ll be charged a Single Airport fare.
Alternatively, you can pre-purchase discounted tickets online at Edinburgh Ticket. Or simply purchase tickets from a Ticket Vending Machine on the tram platform.
Last trams will be departing from the West End at 00:22 each night.
