The best ticket for regular tram and bus users, Ridacard gives you our best value for money travel whenever you need it – the more you travel, the more you save.

Ridacard holders can travel on both Edinburgh Trams and Lothian Buses at no extra cost, but make sure you validate your Ridacard before boarding any tram - If you don’t, you will have to pay the On-board fare.

To validate your Ridacard, simply touch it on one of the smartcard validator machines on the tram stop platform. A message will appear on screen to confirm that your Ridacard has been accepted for travel.

How do I use my Ridacard on the Tram?

Follow these simple steps to use your Ridacard on our trams.

Validate your Ridacard on the platform validator before boarding.

If a red cross appears you must purchase a ticket from the ticket vending machine or you will be liable for the £10 On-board Fare.

A green tick signals successful validation. You must board within 30 minutes of validation.
