Edinburgh Trams is donating unclaimed lost property left behind on trams to Cancer Research UK.

The partnership will see hundreds of items donated the to charity every month.

Lost property is kept at the Transport for Edinburgh Travelshop in Hanover Street for four weeks before space means they need to be found a new home.

Ranging from the obvious such as gloves and glasses, to obscure such as pets, passports and cuddly ponies the company is delighted to be able to recycle these items and donate them to such a good cause.

Tram passengers will soon be able to benefit from the convenience of buying a return ticket for city-zone journeys, helping to reduce queues and waiting times at platforms. Customers will also have the option of paying by card, as the cost of a return is above the minimum card payment threshold.

Available from 10 April, the new return ticket will be priced the same as two single tickets and valid only on same-day tram services within the city area. A separate ticket is required for return journeys in the Airport zone.
