Edinburgh Trams has entered into temporary agreement with Stagecoach buses to help alleviate the problems currently being experienced by commuters.  From Thursday 10 December Stagecoach will divert their services between Fife and Edinburgh to Ingliston Park & Ride to facilitate transfers to and from Edinburgh Airport.

Stagecoach customers can connect to and from Edinburgh Trams services without additional cost, though the tram company will be reimbursed.

As a result of the Forth Road Bridge opening the agreement will come to an end at the end of service on Wednesday 23 December.

Ian Craig, Chief Executive of Transport for Edinburgh, said:

The situation for commuters and transport operators is unprecedented and challenging and we're pleased to be part of the effort to deliver the best possible solution. The Transport for Edinburgh Group will do all it can to work with fellow transport providers to move people to where they need to be.

Additional support staff and management will be deployed at Ingliston Park & Ride to help passengers and to monitor the situation.

Lothian Buses is also supporting Stagecoach by providing support and extra depot space for Stagecoach vehicles at the Company's Longstone facility.
