Apart from celebrating its 100th birthday this year, Scottish Gas Murrayfield has been hosting the Men’s Guinness Six Nations Championship since February. The first tournament saw the Scots score 31-19 against Italy, then lose the Centenary Quaich to Ireland. The last fixture here in the city will take place on Saturday, 08 March, and we’re ready to make sure you miss none of the action!
We’ve put together some frequently asked questions to help you make the most of the day - see below.
Who is Scotland playing against?
To close out the home games, the Welsh team will return to Murrayfield after losing in Cardiff during the 2024 Championship to contest the Doddie Weir Cup. Kick-off is at 4:45 pm, with the Ireland vs France match being streamed on a big screen at 2:15 pm.

Are you going to boost your service frequency on the day?
Yes - to ensure you and your pals arrive at the stadium before kick-off, our Service Delivery team will deploy extra trams before and after the games, boosting service frequency to around every 3.5 minutes. Did you know each unit can carry over 250 people? That’s a lot of fans!
As with previous game days, we’ll expect to run a very busy service on Saturday, so please be patient with our colleagues, who are all trying to get you to and from the stadium as safely as possible.

What’s the best tram ticket deal I can buy?
If you visit our official ticketing portal, you’ll see we have offers suitable for everyone.
The ‘Adult Day Tripper’ ticket allows unlimited trips between Ingliston Park & Ride and Newhaven for just £4.50 – perfect for those who want to wander in town before the match. A ‘Child Day Tripper’ can also be purchased at £2.25.
Travelling with the family? The ‘Family Day Tripper’ can be used within the ‘City Zone’ and is valid for up to two adults and three under 16s for only £8. Check it out here.
On the Edinburgh Ticket website, you can find deals for airport transfers, with an option to buy for multiple days.
All our products give you money-saving discounts at some of the city’s top restaurants like Hard Rock Café and Harvey Nichols.
Alternatively, our colleagues will be deployed at key platforms to help you buy the right ticket. Look for the high-vis jackets!

I’m taking my car but don’t want to park in the city. Where can I leave it?
Edinburgh's roads are usually quite busy on match days. Those driving from beyond the city can use our Ingliston Park & Ride facility, which is located just off the A8 Airport Junction on Eastfield Road.
Ingliston Park & Ride is free of charge and has a tram stop within walking distance. If you have not yet purchased your ticket, you can do so at one of our kiosks there before making your way to Murrayfield.
How easy is it to get the tram after the game?
To ensure the safety and comfort of all our customers, we’ll have a queuing system in place at Murrayfield tram stop. Please join the right-hand queue for services towards the city centre, Leith, and Newhaven, including stops at Haymarket, Princes Street, and St Andrew Square (for Waverley station). The left-hand queue is for services towards Edinburgh Airport and Ingliston Park & Ride.
We ask you to retain your return ticket, as it’ll be checked again at the gateline. If you need to buy one, don’t worry! Our colleagues will be around to assist you.
What else do I need to know?
On game days, customers are not permitted to drink alcohol on our trams.
Items which can be brought into the stadium are limited – check the Scottish Rugby website for more details here.
