As Scotland’s 2017 Six Nations campaign comes to an end at the BT Murrayfield Stadium, there’s no better way to get to the heart of the action than with Edinburgh Trams.
Super Saturday on 18 March will see Scotland take on Italy at Murrayfield with the other remaining Six Nations fixtures being shown on the stadium’s big screens after full time.
With roads around Murrayfield likely to be very busy prior to kick-off at 12.30pm, Edinburgh Trams offers the best way to get to the famous stadium with frequent and direct services from locations such as Edinburgh Airport, the city centre and Ingliston Park & Ride.
Dean Anderson, Customer Experience Manager at Edinburgh Trams, explained:
“The previous two Six Nations fixtures at Murrayfield this year have seen us carry thousands of rugby fans to the match, and we look forward to carrying many more again for the game against Italy.
“Fans can avoid the traffic and the hassle of finding a parking space close to the stadium by taking the tram. Return travel in our City Fare Zone is fantastic value for money, costing just £3.20 for adults and £1.60 for kids.”
“A gateline will be in place at our Murrayfiled stop and we ask that customers have their tram tickets ready for inspection when leaving the tram.”
For anyone travelling to the game from the airport, open ended return tickets are priced at £8.50 for adults and £4.50 for children. Fans will need to buy their ticket from a tram stop ticket machine, or by using the Transport for Edinburgh App before boarding.
Dean added: “Trams have proved to be very busy for the previous Six Nations games, so fans and those using our services around the time of the game should allow themselves a little extra time for travel. Due to the number of additional customers we are expecting, the carriage of bikes will not be permitted during this day.”
