A fantastic programme of top rock and pop artists will take the stage at an iconic Edinburgh venue over the next few weeks, and the city’s trams offer a quick way to travel to and from the concerts.

Legendary rock band The Who is amongst the headline acts lined up for a summer of gigs at Edinburgh Castle this month, and with services running from every seven minutes across the city centre, fans can avoid the traffic and parking hassle by taking the tram.

What’s more, those driving into town for these concerts can benefit from over 1,000 free parking spaces at the Ingliston Park & Ride. The facility is just off the A8/Airport junction and has its own tram stop.

Lea Harrison, the operator’s Managing Director, commented:

Edinburgh has always been known for hosting world-class music events, so these concerts are sure to be a success with fans. Princes Street tram stop is just a short walk away from the castle, and Adult Return tickets can be purchased from platform ticket machines for just £3.80.

Now that we serve all stops between the airport and Newhaven, we’re all set to help customers to make the most of the summer programme, including events at this unique venue.

The fun kicks off on Wednesday, July 5, when American alternative folk band The Lumineers will delight thousands of people with hits such as  ‘Sleep on the Floor’ and ‘Stubborn Love’. They will then be followed by the one and only Rod Stewart on Thursday (June 6) and Friday (June 7), and further details can be found here.
