As our Ticket Inspectors return to duty, we are supporting The Institute of Customer Service’s ‘Service with Respect’ campaign.
The Institute’s research reveals more than half of customer-facing staff have experienced abuse from customers since the start of the pandemic – ranging from verbal abuse such as shouting and abusive language to, in the most extreme cases, physical assaults.
Safety is our number one priority. This includes the safety of our Drivers and Ticket Inspectors who play a key part in deterring anti-social behaviour. All of our colleagues should be able to carry out their duties without fear of acts of violence and aggression.
Our Ticket Inspectors are not only there to answer any questions and ensure you have a great experience, but they are also essential to ensuring that every customer journey is recorded and paid for. This in turn keeps our fares low for everyone.
Help us to help you by remembering to purchase, validate or activate your ticket, smartcard or mticket before boarding the tram. When asked, please clearly present your ticket, smartcard or mticket which will be checked without contact. For more information on travelling safely during Covid-19, please check out our travel advice.
If you’re taking the ttram this week, be kind and considerate to our colleagues and other customers.
