Edinburgh Trams is delighted to announce their support as a travel partner for Burns and Beyond 2020 celebrating the life and work of Robert Burns.

This year Burns&Beyond and Chinese New Year Festivals are joining forces for a very special programme of events, celebrating the alignment of Burns Night and Chinese New Year, which will both fall on 25 January 2020 – the Year of the Rat.

Taking place between 21 January and 1 February across both the New and Old Town, Burns and Beyond will invite audiences to discover talents from across Scotland.

Just a short walk from the West End Tram Stop is Red, Red Rose Street, an area frequented by Robert Burns.  New for 2020, The Big Burns Quiz, held in a selection of bars along Rose Street with teams battling it out against each other and each pub to win fantastic prizes.

Following last year’s spectacular presentation of Luke Jerram’s ‘Museum of the Moon’ and in celebration of Burns Night and Chinese New Year falling on the 25th January, a stunning Chinese lantern installation has been created to transform Edinburgh’s famous St Giles’ Cathedral with a canopy of over 400 lanterns.  Take the tram to Princes Street and take in the city’s skyline as you walk up The Mound to St Giles.
